Re-examining Identity and Performance in the 21st Century

The primary focus of this collection on Re-examining Identity and Performance in the 21st Century is to examine the fluidity of identity in the 21st century. This work attempts to uncover how the discourse on performance of plural identities operates in the society reflecting the struggle of the individuals to sustain themselves. This book also reads identity performance particularly in theatrical performances including the study of performance traditions, performance criticisms and stagecraft. About the Editors Pinky Sharma Saikia has been working as Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Duliajan College, Duliajan, Assam since 2016. She completed her M. A. and M.Phil from Gauhati University. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. from Dibrugarh University in the area of Contemporary Theatre Performances. Her areas of interest include Theatre Studies, Feminism, Performance Criticism. Her academic contributions consist of numerous research papers in national/international Seminars, book chapters and publications in esteemed journals. Nirupama Dey holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Duliajan College in Assam. She is an active member of the college's academic staff and has contributed to departmental activities and publications. Her academic journey includes completing her Master's degree (M.A.) from Gauhati University. Following this, she pursued and successfully obtained her Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree from Assam University. Currently, she is continuing her advanced studies by pursuing a Ph.D. from Assam University. Ms. Dey is an active researcher, demonstrated by her track record of publications. She has published several papers in multiple journals recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the CARE (Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics) list, as well as in other esteemed national journals.
