K Amutha

Biography

Dr. Amutha K is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textiles and Apparel Design at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She holds a Ph.D. in Textiles and Apparel Design. Her research interests include sustainable textiles, natural dyes, natural fibers, nonwovens, wet wipes, hygiene textiles, and textile composites. Dr. Amutha has authored research papers, books, book chapters, and course materials in the field of textiles and fashion. She has an h-index of 11 and over 600 citations by Google Scholar. She has also guided over 50 postgraduate and 1 doctoral research projects, including work on agro-waste-based sustainable wet wipes. She is the recipient of a granted patent for dyeing textiles using dyes derived from agro-waste and has received honors including the Vocational Excellence Award from the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Vadavalli. Her academic work focuses on promoting eco-friendly, sustainable, and innovative practices in the textile industry.
