Biography

Dr. M. Anjaladevi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Yoga Studies, Central University of Kerala, with over 15 years of teaching, research, and professional experience in Yoga and allied disciplines. She holds an M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Yoga, along with postgraduate qualifications in Yoga Therapy, Yoga and Naturopathy, and Economics. She is also UGC-NET and QCI Level-2 qualified. Her academic and professional expertise encompasses Yoga therapy, Hatha Yoga, Yoga philosophy, research methodology and statistics, physiological and psychological mechanisms of yogic practices, and evidence-based applications of Yoga. She has taught and guided students at UG, PG, doctoral, diploma, and teacher-training levels and is involved in Ph.D. supervision and interdisciplinary research. Her major research interests include Yoga and lifestyle disorders, neurophysiological and psychological mechanisms of yogic practices, heart rate variability and autonomic/vagal regulation, stress and related biomarkers, menopausal health, adolescent mental health and behavioural studies, and the integration of traditional yogic knowledge with modern scientific research. She is particularly interested in developing evidence-based approaches to traditional Yoga practices and integrating Yogic philosophy with contemporary experimental and public-health research. Dr. Anjaladevi has published research papers in peer-reviewed, UGC-CARE and Scopus-indexed journals and has contributed chapters to academic volumes. Her research and academic contributions cover Yoga therapy, physiological and psychological health, menopausal wellbeing, mental health, sleep, Yoga philosophy, and educational development. She has presented research at national and international conferences and has served as a resource person for faculty development programmes, academic workshops, and university-level Yoga programmes. She has also had international professional exposure through Yoga therapy and academic engagements in Singapore. She currently contributes to academic and professional activities as a Rashtriya Karma Yogi Master Trainer, YCB Examiner, Ph.D. Supervisor, and academic resource person.
