About the book
The Oyster of Love is a treasure trove of incredible poems depicting every nuance of love. Each rhymeemanates from the soul of a romantic, who not only has experienced love, but has also seen and explored its diverse facets in her odyssey of life. Vandita hails from an eminent family of educationists. Her parents were lecturers at Ewing Christian College, Allahabad. She has been a meritorious student who topped the University of Allahabad in her post-graduation. She has also obtained a doctorate degree from the university in American Literature.
She is an avid reader who has written several articles, poems, and short stories for National and International journals such asthe Criterion, Ruminations , GNOSIS; and International magazines such as Immagine and Poessia, Synchronised Chaos, and Guido Gozzano . Her poem, “The Endangered Tiger”, was given an honourable mention in 2017 in the magazine, Guido Gozzano . Her first book of poetry, Quintessential Outpourings, was published in July 2016. Her poems have been read on shows such as the John Kavanagh showand others. Her poem, “I Am Special”, has been published by the esteemed Hellbound Publishing House. She has also been the recipient of several awards, such as the Poetic Galaxy Award 2018 for her contribution to poetry,and the Double Cross Award for her outstanding contributions in the book onComplexion-Based Discriminations. These prestigious awards were conferred by the Literati Cosmos Society of India.
