About the book

It is conceived fundamentally that all humans are divinely born and have been blessed with divine attributes like Goodness, nobility, truthfulness and the like virtues, at birth. All men are noble by nature, as long as they maintain immunity against earthly contamination, as long as they keep their emotions under control against sporadic inflammations and so long as they justify reasons to their actions. It is true that he is divinely born, but he is cut to size, by being fallible. He is easily prone to slips and errors. He does not commit errors for sport, but he falls into the trap, already laid for him and the like of him. He is often thrown to his wits end under bafflement, doubt and fear, but he is obliged to act; even then; because he is held accountable, inescapably for both his actions and inactions. The characters, as lively humans as we are, have suffered slips, not under joyous excitements, but under vigorous strains of circumstantial compulsions. It is not that they resolved and acted half-heartedly. They had pressed their faculties in full, while combating against mighty odds, but under given situations. They could not disown responsibility. They reaped what they sowed. It becomes evident through the stories that noble human virtues are through a rapid spell of decadence. It is desired ideally to stand by the distressed, but it becomes outright inhuman to reap advantage out of someone’s misfortune. We need more of Saswots and the like to make it a better world for our posterity. What good is life, if we cannot pause a while to look at the distressed and sympathize him in his misfortune?
