Song of the Witch (Poems)

By giving the title, ‘Song of the Witch’ to her first poetry collection, a new poet Bindu Jagadeesh has infused in poetry the dark powers allegedly possessed by talented women, who were burned at stake. These poems represent the perpetuation of a poetic tradition that has transposed the soul of a woman to that of a hungry tiger. Its growls are heard across the fields, outside the windows, giving us sleepless nights. In the leaves of this book you can see the pulse of a throbbing heart which travels with me, which disturbs me. – Sara Joseph
