About the book

Social Casework, the first primary method of social work is with least reference material as a text in the Indian context; though social work had been introduced long back in our soil. With this dire need; an attempt has been made to provide in an easy way the conceptual understanding, historical evolution, components, principles, process, theory, methodology, intervention strategies, settings, use of technology and emerging trends - to the students and practicing professionals. Moreover, a widespread narrative of casework practice across a broad range of social environments, specific needs of individuals, groups, communities, institutions, healthcare & correctional settings and foster homes are dealt with utmost care. In addressing modern developments and novel problems; this book focuses on the integration of evidence-based approaches and technological advancements in preparing caseworkers to navigate and take advantage of a fast-changing professional landscape. To endow future practitioners for global challenges and opportunities, the incorporation of technical competence and cross-cultural awareness in the casework curricula is suggested through this text.
