Shorelines (Poems)

Jesus is the ultimate source of love inspiring Mini's poetic persona. The depth of his character holds immense draw for the poet. But, like a migrant's feet, her ardor “trespasses” the norms of her Christian background. It is with a certain naïve daring that she crosses the worshipful distance maintained between an ordinary churchgoer and Christ the Lord. Her relationship with Jesus is in the experiential nature of the intimacy of the poets in the Bhakti tradition with their personal gods. Like Aandal, Mira and Lalla, she too loses herself in her pursuit of love. --- Rizio Yohannan, Writer
