About the book

P on himself: ‘Who am I? From where have I come? Where do I go? What is nature? What is life? And what are my responsibilities, my duties? These questions lay before me always like a mystifying fog. Many an answer were offered; none satisfying. It is said, a poet is a saint – Yes I shall be one – I continue to wish to be one. Will I turn out to be a poet – a saint? I do not know’, so wrote he, as introductory note to the poem Sivathandavam (cosmic dance). Time enquired the poet, ‘Which is your country - Your own country? The poet stretched his finger pointing to the distant horizons – My country is on the other side of the river, of the oceans, of death.’
