Selected Poems from Five Contemporary Tamil Poets (With interviews of poets)

The Anthology of poems by five contemporary Tamil poets translated into English by Prof S. Vincent provides a wide variety of reading experience. As the poets hail from urban, semi-urban and village atmosphere, the poems present a panoramic view of Tamil land's rich texture of culture and landscape. However the common elements predominant in them are their humanistic concern and love for nature. The translator's interviews with the poets give an insight into their life, background, outlook and philosophy. They in turn highlight the authenticity of their voices stemming from myriad experiences which echo a universal appeal. ------- Dr. M. Lawrence
