About the book
The small town of Bulandshahr is where the drama is played out between two diverse friends, Rahul and Kartik. Rahul is an egoist who enslaves a younger shy and retiring Kartik since early boyhood with his gift of the gab and bravado. Arrogant Rahul grows up to become a successful homeopath in Bulandshahr and loses touch with Kartik. A chance meeting in the bylane of a Meerut bazaar reunites them. Life was never the same again for Kartik and his wife Lipika. When Kartik asks him to cure Lipika of her allergy, he gets the chance he is looking for, to lure them to Bulandshahr. But Lipika is more than a match for him and manages to make his life both unpredictable and uncomfortable. Rahul's submissive wife Shobha's sudden disappearance adds spice to the tragi-comic happenings, as Rahul tries to cheat Kartik and Lipika of everything they posses. Lipika retaliates and from then on life is played out like a game of chess; sometimes Rahul winning a game with a new gambit and sometimes Lipika. The tantalising question before the reader is, who will win the ultimate war, as they wage the battles with grit and guile?
