Postcolonial Literature

Postcolonial Literature in the North-East Indian Context: Addressing the Unaddressed aims to fill the lacuna in studying the North-East for what it is- diverse, distant, ever-evolving and multifaceted. It tries to look into the possibilities of creating a framework, a point of reference, for understanding the vicissitudes of the contemporary scenario of the region by situating it at several intersections. The region's realities demand a rethinking of the mainstream postcolonial frameworks, which are often dominated by metropolitan and elite perspectives that overlook peripheral voices. This edited volume therefore is an intervention that is expected to address the underbelly- layers of socio-political and ethnic truths as preserved in literature.
