Looking through the Window is a collection of poems by eleven young writers from northeast, especially from Tripura and Meghalaya. The selected poets in this anthology express feelings, thoughts, happiness, longing, sadness, love, attachment, belief, fear, isolation, nature, etc., through simple words to convey deeper thoughts in their poems. The poems are inspired by personal, social, cultural, and environmental concerns. Through brevity, rhyme, rhythm, imagery and wordplay, the poets are conveying varied emotions, which make the reading of poems memorable for the readers, stretching their imagination beyond horizons to contemplate on the larger issues of life and the reality of life. In the present time, when anxiety, conflict, and wars dominate the world, the expressions of these young poets offer an aura of tranquillity besides, carrying forward the message of creating awareness and inspiring action to foster peace and empathy in society. About the Authors Dr. Anupama Vohra is Professor of English in the Centre for Distance & Online Education (CDOE), University of Jammu. Her areas of research are Regional Literatures, Indian Writings in English, Testimonial Literature and Conflict, Culture and Gender Studies. Prasanta Chakraborty is Ph.D. in English and has retired after serving for more than three decades as Associate Professor in the Higher Education Department, Agartala. He has more than twenty-five papers and a good number of edited volumes to his credit. A prolific writer, he contributes on diverse issues in the newspapers, and at present he is a visiting Professor at M.B.B. University (a state owned University), Agartala, India.
