Dr. T S Viswanathan

This book is an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of scientific research before the advent of technology we take for granted today. Starting from scratch, chemists like Dr. Viswanathan had to rely on intuition and hard work, and painstaking documentation of their research. We now live in the age of IT and easy access to storage and retrieval of information. It is difficult even to imagine how the scientists of the previous generation achieved high levels of success. Let us acknowledge the efforts of those from whose shoulders we view science today.
