Contemporary Indian Stories in Translation

Contemporary Indian Stories in Translation, an anthology compiled and edited by Professor Supninder Jeet Kaur and Professor Sushmindarjeet Kaur, is one of a kind. It includes important Indian literature and also highlights lesser-known ones like Idu Mishmi and traditional ones with limited reach like Haryanvi, Magadhi, and Tulu, featuring eighty-two stories from various languages, starting with the early Assamese author Lakshminath Bezbarua (1868-1938) and his moralistic mini story “Kon and Mon" with a simple, micro-plotline. This unique anthology covers languages such as Bengali, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Hindi, Tamil, Tulu, and Telugu.
